ENERGY STAR Appliance Rebate Program

With documentation and proof of purchase of a qualified ENERGY STAR appliance Four County members are eligible for a $50 rebate.

ENERGY STAR qualified products and practices help you save money and reduce greenhouse gas emissions by meeting energy efficiency guidelines set by the U.S. EPA and U.S. DOE. The ENERGY STAR label also designates greater energy performance in homes and buildings.

Remember, when buying an appliance it has two price tags: what you pay to take it home and what you pay for the energy and water it uses. ENERGY STAR qualified appliances incorporate advanced technologies that use 10-50% less energy and water than standard models.

Major appliances that are eligible for the rebates are:

• refrigerators
• dishwashers
• clothes washers
• freezers
• dryers

Look for the ENERGY STAR label when making your purchase. This mark will appear on appliance packaging.

Solar Water Heater Rebate

Use the Sun's Rays to Heat Water

Solar water heaters can be a cost effective way to generate hot water for your home. They can be used in any climate, and sunshine is the fuel they use and it's free. However, solar water heating systems cost more to purchase and install than a conventional water heating system, but will save you in the end. Besides saving you money, solar water heaters also provide big benefits to the planet by reducing CO₂ emissions, air pollution, and demand for fossil fuels.

If you are in the market for a solar water heater, Four County strongly recommends our members to consult a tax professional to verify your ability to take full advantage of current federal and state solar tax incentitives. Do so in advance to be assured your new solar system will meet your financial expectations for payback and return on investment. Four County  currently offers a $1,000 rebate for members who install a solar water heater with an electric back up.
